The Rev. Dr. George Mason’s “bridge-building” sermons are designed to open conversations about the conflicts and confluence in the currents of culture and the movements of the Spirit.His tone is always respectful, yet provocative; his mood hopeful and evocative! He is a Christian theologian and Retired Senior Pastor of Wilshire Baptist Church (1989-2022). He is also the Founder and President at Faith Commons and Lead Advisor and Adjunct Professor at Baptist House of Studies-Perkins School of Theology at SMU.

Join us in celebrating 2024 Black History Month’s theme: “African Americans and the Arts” with a Museum Meet-up at the African American Museum of Dallas on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 11am. This one-of-a-kind museum is devoted to the preservation and display of African American artistic, cultural and historical materials, including one of the largest African American Folk Art collections in the US. Don’t miss Tenor Soloist, Kevin Sutton, at the 10:30am service this Sunday, Dec. 10. Kevin is an Indiana native and received his early training at Ball State University. He holds the Master of Church Music degree from Scarritt Graduate School in Nashville, TN. He pursued post graduate study at the University of North Texas; and has studied with such noted teachers as Max van Egmond, Nancy Zylstra and Krister Solèn. He has enjoyed a long and varied career as soloist, conductor, teacher and pianist. Kevin is founding musical director of Second Chance Players, a theater company dedicated to persons in recovery and their allies.
