Tis the Season for Giving

By November 22, 2019 December 17th, 2019 No Comments

It’s the little things that make a big impact in our community! Try offering a smile to someone you pass by, visiting a neighbor that’s shut-in, volunteering at shelter, donating food to local food pantry or giving a few extra dollars to support the many ministries St. Thomas is involved in. Everyone has something to give! St. Thomas is excited to offer new, innovative and convenient ways to donate:

  1. Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. The goal is to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe. Support and honor St. Thomas’ many ministries by making a special donation on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019. GIVE NOW >

  2. Holiday shopping through AmazonSmile
Do you shop on Amazon? If so, you can chose for St. Thomas to receive 0.5% of your eligible purchases! Simply go to smile.amazon.com then log in and click on Account & Lists. Under the Account column, click on Your AmazonSmile. Type in The Episcopal Church of St Thomas the Apostle. There are two – select the Dallas location. Then just shop as you normally would and Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases to St. Thomas. Every time you shop, log in at smile.amazon.com and St. Thomas will continue to receive a donation. You can check your impact at Your AmazonSmile to see donation information.

  3. Donations via text
Gifts made fast and easy! Simply text to phone number 214-974-4832 and type the word GIVE then follow the link to choose a fund and finalize your donation. Remember, scheduling a recurring gift helps our church better plan and forecast for ministry needs. And giving via the ChMS App instantly records your giving statement, whereas checks mailed or given to the church can take up to 9 days to process and record. Watch this video to learn how to set-up a recurring gift via texting app.

Contributions made to the church may be tax deductible. If you have any questions about making a donation to St. Thomas, please contact Pam Liles at pam@thedoubter.org.
